Sherrie began performing at just four years old and took home an Olivier Award for Best Newcomer by fifteen. With a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she launched into a remarkable career spanning film, television, and theater, earning accolades like Best Actress and Best Comedy Actress along the way. As one of Britain’s most beloved comedy actresses, Sherrie has starred in Carry On films, captured hearts as Maureen Holdsworth in Coronation Street, and led the laughs as Joyce Temple-Savage in ITV’s hit comedy Benidorm, both on-screen and in the sellout stage production. She also brought Mrs. Slocombe to life in the BBC remake of Are You Being Served?
Beyond her acting career, Sherrie entertained audiences as the comedy cornerstone on Loose Women for a decade, and she’s published three books, including her bestselling autobiography Sherrie – Behind the Laughter. Her crime novel The Tannery and cookbook Nana’s Kitchen showcase her creative versatility.
